How do dental cleanings work?
Typical cleaning usually takes about 1 hour, and will usually include scaling, polishing, and fluoride.
If you haven’t been to the dentist in a while, you may need multiple visits for the hygienist to clean all your teeth thoroughly. If you are a returning patient, your cleaning appointment may also include procedures like a check-up or x-rays.
I'm a new patient - what should I expect?
Welcome! We are happy to see you have an interest in choosing us as your dental clinic.
We recommend our first-time patients to schedule a full comprehensive oral examination and x-rays with one of your dentists.
During the 1-hour comprehensive dental exam, your dentist will assess the overall health of your teeth and gums. The dentist will recommend any treatment you might need. We take the time to explain why and where our patients should consider the recommendation we make.
I have dental insurance - can you direct bill to my insurance company?
Yes! We are one of the few clinics in Burnaby that allow direct billing for your convenience.
If your coverage provider is Canadian, Please make sure to tell our receptionist before your appointment so we can bill the insurance company by the time you are done your appointment.
How do your prices compare with other dentists?
Our dental clinic follows the current British Columbia Dental Association fee guide and we strive to provide you with affordable, high-quality dental care.

How often should I visit the dentist?
As a general rule, you should visit your dentist twice a year.
Regular dental exams and cleanings are necessary for preventing dental problems and maintaining healthy teeth and gums.
What if I'm scared to go to the dentist?
We understand going to the dentist can be a frightening place.We’ve helped a lot of patients who initially had anxiety visiting a dental clinic. That’s why we pride ourselves on having some of the most helpful, empathetic dentists and staff around. We want you to be at ease with every aspect so if you are feeling anxious about coming in, we recommend coming in for a free consultation first.

Do you offer any discounts?
Yes! We currently offer a discount for our patients aged 65 and over.
Is whitening covered by my insurance?
Insurance companies usually don’t cover cosmetic treatments. Teeth whitening procedures fall under this category. If you wish to double-check this, we recommend calling your insurance company.
How do I maintain my oral health?
- Exercise good oral hygiene every day to preserve your oral health.
- Use fluoride toothpaste to brush your teeth at least twice a day with a soft-bristled brush.
Floss every day.
- Using mouthwash after washing and flossing to avoid the left food particles.
- Eat a healthy diet with less added sugars.
- When toothbrush bristles overused or dirty, get a new toothbrush every three months.
- Ensure you have regular dental exams and cleanings.
- Stay away from tobacco.
